Etiquette
We are a very friendly organisation, but certain etiquette is required.
Passing:
ALWAYS ask permission, giving reasonable notice and consideration for the chance to overtake. Please be patient and courteous when wishing to pass. If you are on a narrow track, try and look ahead to see if there is space for that person to let you pass, if not, you must wait.
NEVER canter past another horse and rider. If the person you have asked to pass asks you to be careful or to walk, please respect their wishes as they are the ones that knows their horse and what it may be capable of. Remember to look out for tail ribbons! Your horse might not need to wear one but you need to be aware of what they mean in case you come across them.
Know Your Tail Ribbons:
- RED – Stay Back I KICK
- Green – I’m a Novice Horse or Rider
- Blue – I’m a stallion
Ride instructions
If a ride states that you must "stay off the verges" for example, this has been done for a reason. Compulsory walk areas are compulsory walk areas for a reason. We are very fortunate to have some of the most amazing routes to ride, but this depends on the goodwill of landowners and local residents.
We ask all our riders to be courteous and respectful at times.

Cancellation Policy
- To cancel a ride entry please go to your account and select 'my rides'
- Use the cancel button to cancel any rides which are still valid for cancellation.
- Please note that the cancellation button will not show after the published cut-off date.
Cancelling a ride entry will automatically credit your Sport Endurance account so that you can then immediately use this credit to book another ride of the same value (or the same ride if you previously made a mistake). If Sport Endurance has to cancel an event, then the credit for your entry will automatically appear on your account once all riders have been informed. This may take up to 24 hours.
If you would like a refund instead of a credit, providing you paid for the ride using Sagepay and not Customer credit, then you may complete the on-line refund form below.
Please note that refunds will not be actioned unless you have already cancelled your entry and also have filled in all the details on the form below.
NB refunds may not be actioned until after the closing date of the ride as they are processed manually and are usually done in batches.
Event Entries
When booking on-line, by acceptance of this cancellation policy, all riders entered agree to abide by the Sport Endurance rules, which can be found on the website and at the venue. All Non-member entrants agree to become day members of Sport Endurance for the day(s) of the ride only. Benefits of this include 3rd party insurance.
Entries can be cancelled at any time up to the published cut-off date detailed on the ride listing for that ride, by completing the form above. The users account will then be credited to enable them to make another ride entry of the same value at a later date, but a refund to the original card may be made on request. Entries cannot be cancelled after this date. Anyone wishing to withdraw after the cut-off date may email the ride organiser to let them know, but this is not necessary as the entry will stand and be available to use if circumstances change.
Membership
Memberships can be cancelled within 5 working days from the day following receipt of purchase. Should you change your mind regarding the membership you should contact us by email.
Camping
Camping bookings may be cancelled at any time up to the night of the camping, by completing the cancellation form.
Social Events
Tickets for social events are not refundable once purchased. They may be sold or passed on to someone else but not cancelled.
Non Member Registration
If a Non-member wishes to cancel their web registration, they may do so at any time by emailing the office.
